They’re all a lot of great places to fish for salmon all over the world. You can find different species of salmon in many unique regions all over the world. Some of these places you can only fish by flying in by plane and then you can only stay for a limited time. Other fishing destinations are great locations that you can pitch a tent and take a vacation and stay for an extended period of time. Some of the best fishing spots are free and other you must pay to get into. Most of the locations that you have to pay for will be the experience that will be well worth the money.

A really great place to fish is Scott Lake in Northern Saskatchewan. This lake is over one hundred thousand acres and filled with all types of trout. This lake is a trout fisherman’s dream. Where else can you sit in a boat and cast again and again reeling in fish after fish. Its not uncommon to pull a trout out of that lake that measures up to thirty five inches long and is not uncommon to catch your limit plus more in one day.

Chinook salmon can be caught in the spring in downtown areas of Portland Oregon that the Willamette River flows right through. Each running of these majestic fish supports a healthy portion of returning salmon, fifty thousand to over one hundred thousand, that keep coming back year after year. The Columbia River that is also near Portland, receives over one million fishermen yearly. These fish are excellent fighters and jump in the air in an attempt to get away and get upstream to spawn.

During a battle, these fish can jump several times in the air to try to be successful in their escape. Trolling spinners and fly-fishing is some of the best ways to catch these great tasting and healthy fish but it is not the only way that a fisherman could use. The middle of March through the middle of May is the best time to find these fish at this location.

These are a few locations where you can catch great salmon and trout. The locations have to be ideal in order to hook the big one, and if you are lucky to catch a Chinook salmon, it is one of the healthiest meats that you could eat as three different oils in the meat that are not only good for the body but you will be getting a ton of exercise trying to get your fish up to the shoreline and into your bucket.
